Whether you embrace the Winter weather or brace for it, there's something rather nice about the low light, misty mornings and rainy days as long as you have a warm place to be, hot tea and maybe an old movie or favourite book to devour.
Gardens enter a state of dormancy. Deep green lawns blanketed in fallen leaves, all plum and chocolate hued. The earth is heavy, cold, wet and muddy.
Winter is the time for comfort food and fluffy jumpers. Socks are a must, as is a self-saucing pudding (smothered in cream, thanks)!
It's a time to sit back and let the garden do its thing.
