Since the dawn of time, pottery has been the cornerstone of civilisation, allowing humans to store food and water, but most importantly, to prepare and cook grains. This meant we weren't soley reliant on fresh produce and gave us the ability to travel long distances, secure in the knowledge we would remain fed.
"The earliest known pottery vessels were discovered in Jiangxi, China, which date back to 18,000 BC" (thanks Wikipedia). It's really quite humbling to be a part of such an important tradition.
While most of us have replaced ceramics with stainless steel, glass and (unfortunately) plastics for culinary purposes we're still drawn to the ancient, tactile, beauty of a simple clay pot, and what better way to celebrate that beauty than by simply admiring it, in a garden, courtyard and indoors too.
With all that in mind, we thought this month we'd show you some our our NEWEST offerings and BEST SELLING pieces. Enjoy.
New Favourites
We've been busy adding fresh pieces to our Krete range, inspired by the pastel landscapes of the Greek Islands. The collection includes oversized jars, flat-bottom bowls and rustic planters in washed glazes that allow the natural clay to peek through.
Krete is handmade, kiln-fired pottery from Vietnam that translates perfectly to our gardens and homes here in Australia.

Another twist on this favourite from the Provençal region in France.
Planted with citrus, gardeners thought urns were perfect as they could be bought in from the cold during the winter to avoid freezing.
Our Charlotte, manufactured by hand in Vietnam, is unlikely to be wheeled anywhere once planted, but its place in history guarantees its future.
